Last Saturday,I was sat in an American Diner with two of my blogger friends Boo Brown and Sharon Davies when I got a notification through from Twitter.
It was a beautiful illustration from the amazing Murder of Goths announcing to everyone that I had won ‘Best New Blogger’ at the first ever Curvee Awards.
My first reaction? Well… to burst into tears, obviously!
They were of course, tears of happiness. I was just so overwhelmed with emotion, and couldn’t believe I had actually won the award as I was up against some of the most amazing ladies, who I consider to be good friends too.
And you know what?
Each of these friends messaged me to say Congratulations on the win. And I know they genuinely mean it, as that’s the type of ladies they are.
I know it gets said a lot when people are accepting awards, but we are ALL winners in this case.
I can honestly say I am in esteemed company, given all the other amazing winners. People who I have read and followed for quite awhile now, who are leading lights in the Plus Size community.
We come together as a community, looking out for one another, enjoying the successes of each other, being there when help, advice and support is wanted and offering a listening ear when a jolly good rant is needed.
I can truthfully say I love them all to pieces, and I am so glad to be a part of their World.
