A surplus of Hash Browns and Bumpy Pancakes

Earlyish on Sunday 31st January a bunch of  five babes descended on a local American style diner for Sunday Brunch.

With most of us being from the area, Daisy had decided to travel a couple of hours from her home town to join us for the day, after the idea was suggested and organised by the lovely Sophie

This was all after a random “thrown out there” remark all about pancakes!

Five of us decided to meet up at Buddies. It really is a great diner, with an amazing lunch menu including over 40 varieties of burgers alone! However, we had decided to go for breakfast and all arrived around 10am.

Sophie, Daisy, Kerry, Sharon and I had a huge booth to share, and started off with our drinks orders, needing a bit of time to decide what we wanted from their great breakfast menu.

It was really tricky to decide what to have, but I decided on the Eggs Benedict, one of my absolute favourite meals. This came with a choice of potato, and I opted for the Sliced fried potatoes.

Sharon decided that she wanted pancakes, but the portion would be a bit small with only 3 silver dollar pancakes, so ordered two portions. Little did she know that each portion came with 4 huge hash browns.

When the plate arrived with 6 pancakes and 8 hash browns, the look on her face was an absolute picture!

Sophie who had originally arranged the meet, all for the sake of pancakes decided that she didn’t want pancakes, but waffles. We decided that was allowable, but only if they were referred to as bumpy pancakes. I honestly think that they will forever be called that in my mind now!

My Eggs Benedict was amazing, but being a bit rubbish at eating, I was full before I had even managed to eat half of it. If I could have had a doggy bag and taken it home, I probably would have done.

We have a great time catching up, laughing and sharing stories, until sadly it was time for us all to leave. Of course, we had to have the obligatory selfies and blog photo’s taken before we all split up.

Daisy needed to get back to her hometown, so I duly dropped her off at the train station, which was really quite sad, after having had such a great day.

It was so lovely to have a relaxed lovely meal with some really good friends, and I think we have already mentioned going again…This time for burgers.

Given the amount of choice we have there, it might take an hour to decided just what we all want to eat!

What toppings do you like on your burgers?
