Bound for Budapest with Boo!

So, here I am again off on my adventures! Another trip away with Boo the Blogger Babe!

Now, how has this all come about? It started off with the wonderful Caroline Curvy Wordy suggesting a girls holiday when we all met up at The Curvy Convention in May,

Having never been on a proper girls holiday abroad, I was instantly keen, however knew I wouldn’t have a lot of funds to put towards it, given the short notice.

We were originally looking at Greece for a week, and I mentioned it to my family, who were happy for me to go. They suggested that instead of presents for my birthday, they could give me money towards the holiday to make it easier.

This sounded like an amazing idea, and I was overjoyed to get £170 from all my family. A huge help indeed!

However, thanks possibly to Brexit, the cost of the trips to Greece had gone up massively so, and it was with quite a sad heart that I was unable to afford the week in Zante. We spoke to Caroline and tried to come up with a suitable alternative, but unfortunately not everyone likes the same sorts of holiday and we decided to try and arrange it at another time.

In the interim, Boo suggested a short City break, and would I be interested.

Well, of course I would! Dependent on costs and dates. So Boo got on the case and started looking.

Before too long she had come up with an absolute corker of a deal! A 5 day stay in Budapest at the Continental Hotel. She sent me the link to the property to see what I thought.

Immediately I fell in love with the building. The hotel is set in an old spa; Budapest is renown for it’s Thermal Spa’s and has been in use since the Roman Days! This particular hotel however is very vintage and Art Deco in it’s design – right up my street.

One of the highlights for me is the rooftop swimming pool. I am hoping to get some good weather so I can premier my new bikini and get photographs for it’s full review. If not, there is also an indoor pool that I can use too.

So, the dates were OK, now was the price OK? I waited with baited breath!

Thankfully I can report that it was indeed well within my budget, so checking with the husband to make sure it was still fine to travel, we went ahead a booked a 5 day break!

We are right in the center of the City, with theatres and museums all around us. I have earmarked several places I would like to see including Buda Castle, The Chain Bridge and The Shoes on The Danube Memorial. I know there will be lots others that we hope to see.

I have also seen online a moped tour that you can take – I wasn’t sure if Boo would be up for that, but it sounds like jolly good fun to me! Well, it would have been silly not to mention it to her…. Looks like we are going mopedding around the City!!

I am at the point now where I am chomping at the bit to go. There is only 5 days to wait, and already I have packed, unpacked and re-packed my case! I have looked at ideas of things to do and places to go. I have researched the City bus schedule, and the events that are taking place during the days we are there.

It certainly won’t be a holiday were I can chill around a pool like Greece would have been, but it just means that I have to get saving up for next year so I can have that week in Zante too.

In fact…. I might need a holiday to get over this holiday!
