Boo and I are off on our travels again. Yes, I know you are probably asking how on earth we get all this time off work to swan about on jollies?
This time it is actually a trip being tagged onto a work thing for Boo. We get to wander around Vienna for four days and then I fly home alone.
This is a massive thing for me. I have never flown alone before and I am quite looking forward to it. I literally have never navigated my way around an airport solo. so it will be an adventure if nothing else.
Due to this being tagged onto a work trip, I am so very lucky to be staying at this stunning hotel!
The Falksteiner Hotel Wien Margareten. How beautiful does everything look? I am so excited.
Austria has been somewhere I have wanted to visit ever since I saw The Sound of Music as a small child. I know that the film is based in Salzburg not Vienna, however at the age of 43 I am finally going to a country I have dreamt about.
Vienna is another City that has everything I love. Music; (Mozart was Austrian), Architecture, Food, Museums and Palaces.
I will be able to try and practice my very rusty German whilst taking hundreds of photographs of literally everything.
There are the Lipizzaner horses at the World famous Spanish riding school. A giant ferris wheel ride, and museums galore. It will be a struggle to fit everything in during the four days we are there, but we will give it a good old shot.
Add in walking tours, hop on/off buses and trying the local delicacies and it will be quite a trip.
Whilst having a look at some extra things to do, I may have spotted a full day trip to Bratislava in Slovakia. Again it is another Country I would like to visit, so this could be a good way of having a sneaky peek before doing a full trip there in the future. Boo seems quite keen on the idea, so it certainly is on the short list!
The only downside is that again we are taking hand luggage only. Bearing in mind that the full skirts on some of my dresses take up nearly a case themselves, it is always tricky to get everything in there. But I will be cramming in as much as I can, after all I need to look good in such a beautiful City as Vienna.
I have a small hand luggage suitcase, but the wheels are literally falling off. It was really tricky to control when I was in Slovenia, so I think a new one is in order. I love these ones as they are lightweight and bright in colour. I really don’t like boring black/grey suitcases (which my old one is)
I need to get organised and order one of these as Vienna is only 10 days away. And I need to compile a list of what to take with me. A little disorganised at the moment, what with starting a new job and taking on more hours.
As I am struggling a little……
Are there any suggestions of things you say we simply cannot miss, I would love to hear them. We are getting an agenda together at the moment and working out timings and what we can fit in, so hit me with your suggestions!
Till next time…
