Lady V Loveliness

As you know I am a bit of a fan of Lady V London and its plus size sister, Lady Voluptuous.

And I love it even more when they have a mahoosive sale on!

This happened early in January when an email popped into my inbox stating that there were loads of dresses at amazingly low prices. Well, for the first couple of days I didn’t even bother looking.

Why, you might ask?

Well normally there seems to be a fair amount of items in sizes 8, 10, 12 and even size 20.

But when you get to the 24’s and 26’s there is normally not much at all. I put this down to popularity of the size and also that they don’t make ‘quite’ as many of those sizes as they do the smaller standard sizes.

Anyway, I digress.

A couple of days later it was a bit quiet and I remembered the email and thought I might as well go and have a look at them JUST in case.

And I was so glad I did!

In fact, there were a huge array of dresses in my size, around 14 or 15 choices and this made it pretty tricky.

Of course I wasn’t going to purchase anything however I then got another notice that they were taking 10% off the top of all the advertised prices too.

Well, you know it makes sense, Rodney!

First choice on my list was the Gatsby dress in the Ursula style.

The Gatsby Ursula Dress

I have the Ursula in two or three prints and I  love the shaping and how comfortable it is even though it is a wiggle dress. The Gatsby print features a 20’s girl, champagne bottles, martini glasses and other embellishments.

Originally costing £55 it was now down to £15 with another 10% off.

£13.50.  Just bonkers!

My next choice was the Popcorn dress in the Hepburn Style. Priced at £17.50 from £55 this was another interesting print that caught my eye.

The Popcorn Hepburn Dress

I loved the bright pattern and found it amusing and still very wearable. I actually will probably wear this to the cinema just for the giggles.

The next dress was in a style I had never tried before; the Cheryl Dress. This was in a fairground print and I absolutely loved it.

The Fairground Cheryl Dress

The balloon dog, ferris wheel, Carousel horse and dodgems were delightful, not to mention the popcorn and other snacks you would find at a large carnival.

I also really liked the large bow on the left hand side and the ruched bustline.  At £20 it was one of the more expensive dresses, however again it had 10% off. And it had originally been £60.

Into the bag it went.

My last choice (or so I thought) was another Hepburn in the Queen’s Guard print. Again it was silly and sweet and I thought I could really pull it off.

I put this into the bag and was ready to check out. I popped back onto the email to get the code for the discount and saw another dress which was totally divine. A 40’s style fishtail dress in just a plain material.

The Fishtail in Tardis Blue

But I loved it.

I doubted they would have it in my size but I had a look anyway. Not only did they have it in my size, but they had it in 3 colours too!

Of course, the Tardis Blue and Regal Purple were the two I was drawn to.

The price?

Down from £60 to £15.

Out when the Beefeater and in went the two fishtails.

Finally I had made my choices. Now, how much did the bill come to?

With the discount my total haul came to the amazing price of £74.25! With free postage too.

Well, for FIVE dresses that is just ridiculous. The total cost of what I should have paid would have been £290 and that is a massive saving.

I have to admit though, I ummed and aaahed a fair old bit about getting them all. However for those prices I would be mad not to!

In less than 3 days they arrived and they were all as stunning as I hoped.

All I have to do now is try them all on and let you know what they are like.

So, watch this space!

Till next time,
