Revolution Remix

Readers may remember around the Christmas period I got a few cosmetics and facial products from Revolution in their Winter Sale.

Of the new items I tried, I was really blown away by the Star Primer and the Thirsty Mood Quenching Booster.

A Super Star!

Well, I had nearly used both of my bottles up so I popped onto the website to get some more, assuming they still had them.

Not only were they still available, they were both still on offer at 50% off!

My Skin has never felt so good

Of course, whilst I was on there I got sucked in by the other sales items and ended up putting a few other bargains in my basket.

So, what did I get this time?

Exciting!

In the past I have spoken about wanting to experiment more with eyeshadow colours and my little face lit up when I saw all the smashing colours that were on offer. I ended up getting five palettes, all with a different ‘spin’.

My first palette was the Tammi Tropical Paradise set  down from £10 to £5.

Tropical Palette

The set contains 23 different shades and at half price, it was worth a punt. I especially liked the mauves, lilacs and glitter shades in this set and fancied trying them out.

23 Fabulous Shades

The second one was the X Carmi Kiss of Fire set which was down from £10 to the absolute bargain price of £3.00! I chose this one as there was ten eyeshadow colours and two highlighters.

Glamorous!

I spotted a couple of rose gold shades and a pretty marine blue and at that price it would have been silly not to get it.

Carmi Kiss of Fire

Palette number three was the Azure Trends Palette.  This palette was reduced from £8.99 to only £4.50 but caught my eye because it has several neutral shades which I could combine with some of the stronger colours in there or in the other palettes, especially the Tammi set.

Azure Trending

My Fourth choice was the Unleashed Palette which again was half price at £4.50. These shades were all sparkly rose, lilac, pink and pale cream colours. Perfect for an understated look which also makes it ideal for work.

Wonderful Neutrals

The final palette was my favourite; the Wild Animal Courage palette. The reason I liked this one so much was it had shimmery brown, bronze, red, golds and rose gold colours; 18 of them in fact and the pigments were really rich.

Going Wild

I could see using this palette with the lighter colours for work and then topping them up with a bolder pigment for the evening.

Look at those shades!

In my box of goodies I had also ordered some more setting spray as I was pretty much out of my normal one, some primer and some Pro foundation.

What a haul!

I ordered two setting sprays; the CBD ‘So Dope’ spray and the Antibacterial base fix setting spray. My intention was to use the antibacterial one after my foundation and powder, and the CBD spray after eyeshadow and contouring. Again at half price it was worth getting both.

Setting Sprays

The Superdewy perfecting putty primer was a little different to a normal liquid/gel in that it was like a thick putty. However, spreading it on my face left me feeling soft, smooth and perfectly ready for my makeup base. It really gave an amazing coverage and I could feel the difference between this and other primers.

How cool is that lid?

I needed to get some more foundation as I was again almost out, but didn’t want to spend a vast fortune as I have got into the habit of wearing make-up every day.

This means that I am going through my foundation like mental and I also didn’t want to use a thick, heavy foundation every day.

The Perfect Base

I saw the Revolution Pro foundation drops were in the sale and decided to take a punt on them. With multiple shades and over 300 positive reviews, it made sense to try them out. At only £3.50, if I found my perfect match then it would be a fantastic daily product at a bargain price.

Pro Base in F3 and F4

Putting two shades in the basket, F3 and F4 (for fair with a pink undertone and for light with a neutral undertone) my intention was to use a combination of the two for the best shade and coverage.

So… now that I have shared my purchases, what did I think once I was using them?

I am a massive fan of the foundation and at half price I intend to order a couple more bottles of each so I have stock for when they run out or it goes back to full price. It is light, yet gives great coverage and you can build it up with layers for a much heavier coverage should the desire take you.

Full Face courtesy of Make-Up Revolution

I have tried all of the palettes with some success, however I have yet to delve into a few of the brighter shades, such as the turquoise and violet, but I intend to give them a try out soon.

Kiss of Fire look

The fixing sprays work a treat and I have found that my make-up lasts a whole day in the office once set properly and the spray helps do that.

Wild at heart

All in all, I am a massive fan of the Revolution products. They are a fantastic quality for a decent price. They don’t bring me out in spots, they do exactly what is promised and also have a variety of styles and products to suit all skins colours and types.

Unleashed Palette

Whilst not your ‘high end’ designer brands, they really are of an exceptionally high standard and suits my purse even more so.

Azure trends palette

At £51.20 for the whole box, I got over £111 worth of cosmetics. I have to admit, they are all so good, that I would happily purchase them again at full price.

Majority of the items are still available in the sale, but there are a couple such as the Wild Animal Courage Palette that has gone back up to full price. It is still worth every penny though!

Till next time,
