The magic of Facebook does it again!
What do I mean? Well, if you follow my blog you will have seen a recent post about a handmade dress company, Betty Blue. Well, I had also come across a handmade petticoat maker called Rock n Roll Petticoats.
And they were amazing!
Since I have been wearing vintage style clothing, I have always purchased your generic petticoats from Lindybop, Hell Bunny, and such like.

However, after seeing this amazing maker, I will never purchase one of those ever again.
So, what makes these so special? Well, those of you who wear petticoats will know that for most part the generic ones use quite scratchy netting. Even the softest of them has an abrasive feel and as they all retail around the £30 – £50 mark, it isn’t pleasant paying such a sum to be aggravated by the materials.

Rock n Roll Petticoats are not the same.
These petticoats are made from material and are very very full. You can choose the length, size and colour of the bottom of the petticoat. This is perfect when you want one that goes with all of your outfits, or one that is specific to one particular dress.

The first order I placed with them was to go with one of my Betty Blue dresses. I requested a cream petticoat with green trim.

Well, how could I resist.
I placed my order and waited for the item to be made. Less than a week later I had a box arrive on my doorstep. It was already made.
Think I need one of these in my life
I was gobsmacked with the service. It arrived quicker than my last pre-made petticoat did.
I couldn’t wait to try it on. And boy, was I impressed.

It was soft and really full. It didn’t scratch or irritate the back of my legs. It matched my dress to a T.

I had the opportunity to wear my dress and petticoat to my friends wedding. It had so many compliments, I literally couldn’t believe it.

Of course, this just meant I needed to order more petticoats to go with my other dresses.
First on order? A navy and cream one to go with my second Betty Blue dress which I plan to reveal at Twinwood this year.
I literally cannot recommend Rock n Roll Petticoats enough. The price is fantastic and the quality even better. I know that there will be a few more that I need to add to my wardrobe and to be honest they are better quality and a better price than the pre-made ones.
It’s a no brainer really, isn’t it?
