Paperless Post is Perfect

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by the lovely Helen over at Paperless Post asking if I would be interested in trying and reviewing their website.

Well as someone who is addicted to pretty stationary yet useless at sending cards as my memory is so rubbish I miss all the important dates, most of the time. With Paperless Post it makes life much easier especially for the disorganised and rubbish, like me!

The basic premise is that there are thousands of cards, flyers, invites, announcements and even stationary that you can choose from, customise and send straight into the inbox of your intended recipient.

In my case I decided to give it a try and send some cards to friends. In order to use the site you purchase ‘coins’ and each card tells you th cost in coins and depending on the changes, additions and how many people you want to send your card to, a total amount in coins before you press send. This way you know exactly how much you will need to purchase in advance.

For the purpose of the review I was sent a number of free coins to try out the range and I started off with sending a Thank You card to my dear friends Dr Rhinaixa Duque-Thus and her wonderful husband Dr Holger Thus.

I chose the card I wanted to send with had Thank you written on the outside in 4 different languages; given that they are both multilingual it was the ideal card for them both.

I couldn’t thank them anymore that this.

I went through each page, step by step.  It was so easy; you can literally choose everything from the typeface, envelope colour, envelope inner and even a stamp and postmark.

The complimenting envelope and liner

The design was easy to edit, I wrote a long message inside and then changed the envelope colour. I changed the postmark and stamp, just because I could and then I needed to decide who I was sending the card to.

Choose your recipients

The site is so clever it gives you the option of uploading your email contact from your own email programme or uploading a spreadsheet with the details on. Or you can just add one name at a time. This is perfect if you are sending it to just one person, however if you have an event and want to add hundreds of people, the site makes it very easy to do.

Before you send you can get a preview of the card sent to your own email to check that everything is correct and to your liking. Once satisfied it is simply a case of pressing send.

Simple as ticking a box

This then takes you to a page that tracks the email, making sure it is sent. It also gives the recipients the options of sending a message back to you if they wish.

Once sent you can go into your dashboard, review, see if it has been opened and also duplicate/copy it if you wish to send to another person. It really is so simple to use.

I decided to test it out with some other options and sent a Good Luck/Bon Voyage card to blogging wifey Boo. She is due to go on a trip of a lifetime; three weeks in Japan. So I popped her a little card into her inbox.

Original Design

A bit random but I thought it would put a smile on her face.

All done

I even loved the co-ordinating envelope.

So Pretty – but so were all the others too!

Finally (well for the purpose of testing the site well) I decided to try some personalised stationery and jotted a quick note to my Sister in Law who lives in America. We email frequently and both love pretty stationery and occasionally send written letters, however time seems to get away and it is several weeks before one of us remembers to write! I did say my memory was terrible, didn’t I?

I chose a design called Royal Elephant which I fell in love with the colours of. I wrote a quick note to pop to her and off it went.

Royal elephants

I loved how the envelope inner matched the flowers on the outside of the stationary. It even allowed me to write my blog name on the bottom (or top) if I so chose.

Matching envelope

The whole site is so easy to use, navigate around and edit. It was so simple that I managed to send 2 cards and a short note all in less than 40 minutes. To be honest I could have done it a lot quicker but I kept changing my mind on the card, envelope colours and liners and even the post marks! I do love to have a lot of choice in these kinds of thing.

I know that I will use Paperless Post again and again. The costs of the coins are really reasonable and each card uses very little. Cards start at 2 coins each and you can purchase 10 coins for £4.00 which makes this more than affordable as in theory with little changes you can send cards for less than the price of a 1st class stamp!

With all the changes and extras – 6 coins in total

Now some people may say that sending a card this way is a bit of a cop-out and that a posted card is far more personal. However as I have already stated I am rubbish at remembering in time and so invariably nothing gets sent. In my opinion it would be far nicer to receive a personalised emailed card that has had time and love spent on it than nothing at all.

Personally chosen stamps and postmarks

For me, Paperless Post is the perfect site and solves a lot of my problems. Maybe it could solve a lot of yours too!

Till next time,
