Practically Perfect

Mary Poppins.

Love it or Hate, there is something to be said about the colourful Disney film from the 1960’s written by P.L Travers.

First Edition

The film follows the adventures of the no nonsense nanny and her charges, the Banks Children. Meeting up with the loveable (yet terribly accented) Bert,

And I absolutely love everything about it!

Next to Doris Day, Julie Andrews is my second idol. I love her voice, acting, poise and grace. Her style was exemplary and could wax lyrical about her for hours.

The One and Only……

I have seen the film so many hundreds of times that I could probably recite the whole film word for word, spell that big long crazy word (and backwards) and sing every note of every song.

I am a bit of a Disney fan and Mary Poppins is and will always be one of my favourites.

So, I was extremely excited to see this stunner of a dress from the Disney Dress Shop. I was even happier when I noticed it came in my size.

Of course, I mentioned it to the blog wifey, Boo from ‘Does my Blog make me look fat’ and she had already ordered it for herself.

Back to Plan B. Oh, wait. There was no plan B.

Fast Forward a few weeks later and Boo sent me a message to say that it had arrived and was stunning.

Queue Jealous Mood.

She then went on to say that it was absolutely massive and was no good for her and did I want first refusal?

Did I ever?

When we next met up Boo bought the dress with her and I was ecstatic to try it on. And it fitted a treat.

Me and Mary Poppins

A white dress with a red and pink pattern. Penguins, Carousel Horses and decorative MP initials in cartouches all along the bottom of the dress.

It was so pretty that I couldn’t wait to wear it.

There was only one problem; I didn’t have any accessories to wear with it.

So it was pretty fortuitous that I was bimbling around on the Tinterweb liking a lot of pictures and a regular favourite and internet friend had posted a picture of some hair flowers she had made.

Now I have quite a few hair accessories and flowers from the amazing Emma Shortland of Peacock Pretties including this little bobby dazzler.

Well what I had seen was a floral hairclip with a carousel horse on it. An honest to goodness perfect carousel horse. In the colours of the dress.

Of course I had to message her and ask if she had any more horses. We chatted online like we normally do and I also asked if she had a spare could I buy one so I could attach it to a necklace.

The lovely Emma told me to post the necklace to her and she would sort it out at the same time.

Perfect.

Not too long after that a package arrived. Inside was the prettiesT red flower with a red and pink horse and a matching flower and horse on the pearls.

Absolutely Gorgeous.

Now I was all set.

Or was I?

The following evening I was again looking online and found the perfect piece of jewellery; a penguin waiter. At the bargain price of £8.99, I could hardly resist.

All I need now is one of those magic carpet bags!

Keep an eye out for the full reveal coming soon.

Till next time,
