I love Joe Browns.
For those of you who don’t know, Joe Browns is a clothing and footwear brand that does quite a wide range of sizes from 12 to 34 for ladies. They also have a male range up to a 6XL which is a whopping 68″ chest. Pretty good in my book!
Their style is a bit ‘unusual’. You can get plain looking jeans, or a tunic that looks like patchwork pieces have been put together. A military coat in the most vibrant peacock blue or a white crochet top.

They also have a marvellous range of swimwear and their shoes are magnificent.
Floral Tankini
In the past I have had various bits and pieces from them, but had not looked at their range for several months recently.
During this recent COVID crisis, I was having a look on the Ambrose Wilson website and saw a whole new range which really took my fancy.
Ditsy Print Dress
Some of it had a whole vintage vibe which was right up my street.
It was then that I saw this lovely elegant spotted tea dress. It immediately made me think of the 1940’s and I knew I had everything needed to go with it; hats, shoes, bags, gloves and more.

At £49.00 it was also a very good price.
Of course, I couldn’t resist and I put in an order right away.
Even the labels are funky!
Joe Browns does tend to be true to size. So, I ordered my normal size 26 and waited for the delivery to arrive.
A couple of days later it arrived, but it really wasn’t the weather to show it off. I put it in my wardrobe for a better, dryer day!
Deliciously Dotty
So, on a strange Sunday I got up, curled my hair all over, did a live video tutorial for victory rolls for QL salon and then went outside to get some photographs.
I didn’t put a hat on, nor my gloves. By the time I thought about them, the sun had gone in and it looked like it was going to pour with rain.
Almost perfect pattern matching
Nevertheless, here is the beautiful crepe spotty vintage style tea dress in all its splendour.
Perfectly fitting, the bodice is a faux button style, with pintucks running down both sides. It has sleeves that are not quite elbow length, but longer than cap sleeves.
A Cute Little Dress
The dress is unlined which makes it soft and light to wear. It swishes well around the legs (not a technical term, but I am going to go with it) and is a delight.
I am only 5 foot 2 and the dress comes to just below mid calf on me. The perfect tea-dress length, in my opinion.
A Delight to wear
The dress is available in sizes 12 – 32 and comes in Navy and White spot only.
It is a lovely dress for most occasions; a summer wedding guest, afternoon tea, a lovely lunch or even a day at the races, with the right hat!
Super Spotty
Me, I would happily wear this to any one of those OR the supermarket or a tea dance.
It is really that versatile.

If you have never tried Joe Browns before, you cannot go wrong with their quality, price or designs.
As I said, I do love them!
