A couple of weeks ago I managed to get out in the garden and snap some photos of a new dress from that old favourite of mine, Shein.
I had been struck by the pattern of the dress as it was quite an unusual colour combination and although I thought it may be a little clingy, I liked it that much I decided to give it a whirl.
Based on a Mandarin collar style of dress, this was made from a stretchy material unlike the normal satiny silk that you find in that type of dress.
Adding a trim of deep green tasselling around the hem and sleeves gave it an extra little bit of something that also really complimented the peachy/green colour palette.
I added some simple black vintage style heels and one of my favourite wigs.
The biggest accessory was actually the spoilt diva dog, Theodore.
I hadn’t had chance to get outside to take any photographs recently and he clearly felt he had missed out as when he saw me going out to the back garden with my heels on, he photobombed every single photograph.
Now, given that I was getting shots of four different outfits, there was around 350 photographs…
All with a Cinnamon coloured dog in them!
I guess it was quite apt though, given that his breed originally comes from China and the Far East.
Back to the dress though.
I ordered this is a 4XL which fitted perfectly. My current measurements are 54/49/60 and this skimmed across my body well.
Priced at £14.99 it was even better after the discount reduced it to £10.99.
Going forward I would like to get some peachy shoes to match with it a little better. However, for now the classic black suede did the trick.
So, about the pattern.
This was what had really drawn me to the dress in the first place and is really difficult to describe.
The background of the dress is a dark green with a uniform peachy orange small flower. This is repeated on the rear of the dress.
However the front has a ‘spray’ of flowers across the midriff and on each sleeve. To give even more oomph to the design there is a stripe of golden peach running the length of the sides.
Add the Mandarin collar and fancy frog style closures and you are onto a bit of a winner.
Even better, the dress was exceptionally comfortable to wear too!
In fact, I am off on my holidays soon and this will be an ideal dress to take along. Lightweight and easy to roll up in my suitcase it will be a classy option for dinner in beautiful Italy.
See how it looks when I write about my travels.
Till next time,
