Last month saw both the birthdays of my Mother in Law and my two girls, Baby Bear and Little Chick. As many of you will know, they share the same birthday.
This year was especially important as Mum was hitting the amazing age of 80 and we wanted to do something special.
After much organization, a 5 day holiday was booked for 12 of us in Sussex house.
Not just any house, but a fabulous farmhouse with its own pool, sauna, tennis courts, snooker room and 9 acres of land.
Whilst the holiday was amazing, the weather was shocking and it poured with rain the whole time we were there.
However we made the most of the facilities and had a marvellous time.
Whilst there I took the opportunity to show off some of the amazing gowns that I had purchased to review in time for Christmas and the New Year.
Prior to this, I had already reviewed the stunning seafoam green dress from Ever-Pretty and a glorious Blue Velvet long gown from Shein.
Now it was the turn of a stunning Black and Pink sequin gown also from Shein.
As soon as I saw this dress online, I knew I had to have it; A full length gown with a train and a very 80’s hot pink bow around the rear of the waist.
I ordered the dress along with a couple of others and eagerly awaiting its arrival.
To say I was not disappointed is an understatement.
I fully expected a sequin covered dress, which whilst stunning to look at are scratchy and leave you feeling red raw by the end of the night.
However we must suffer for our fashion and I was more than ready to put up with that.
Surprisingly when I opened the bag I found that the dress was actually made out of a stretchy black velvet, covered in stunning sparkles.
This was a complete change to the normal styles and was so very welcome.
SO, how did the dress look?
With huge shoulder-pads, the large hot pink bow and long sleeves, I was living my Madonna circa 1984 look.
The dress has a lot of stretch and I had ordered this in a 5XL which works out as a size 26UK. The measurements are only given for the waist and hips as the top is quite loose and has a tie at the rear of the neck which you can adjust.
Whilst the waist is shown as 45.7″ and the hips are 52.8″ there is a LOT more give in this dress as my hips are 60″ and there was still plenty of room.
In fact, I could have sized down as it really is that generous.
So, now you have heard all the good bits, what about the price?
Again a lot of luxury and great design for a relatively small price; starting at £76.99, with discount it came to £56.97 which is an absolute bargain.
I literally loved wearing this dress and it would be a fantastic Christmas party dress….
